Theological Education at Midwood Baptist Church
The Institute for Theology and Mission (ITM) is partnered with Midwood Baptist Church to provide structured, church-based theological training right within the local church.
These classes are designed to make high-quality theological education accessible and meaningful for Glorieta members, giving them the opportunity to study in a familiar environment alongside fellow church members and apply what they learn directly to their shared life and ministry.
This model goes beyond typical Bible study by offering a 10-lesson curriculum that is part of a broader four-course certificate program, allowing participants to be recognized for their theological studies within their own church community.
HOW IT WORKS

1. Register for a Class

2. Attend Classes
Participate in the 10-lesson course alongside fellow church members in a familiar, engaging learning environment. Each session includes teaching, discussion, and practical application.
3. Engage and Apply
Learn deeply and discuss how to live out what you study in your daily life and in our church community. Strengthen relationships with other church members as you grow together.
4. Get a Certificate
The church-based program includes four classes as part of the Foundational Studies Certificate:

Foundations of Christian Maturity
After completing all four courses, you’ll be awarded an ITM Certificate recognizing your commitment to theological study and your readiness to serve.

Foundations of Christian Maturity: Developing a Christ-Centered Life
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Foundations of Christian Maturity is a ten-session course designed to help believers deepen their understanding of salvation, faith, character, and action as they grow into spiritual maturity. Each session includes biblical teaching, group discussion, and practical application to strengthen personal discipleship and local church ministry.
This course will help participants:

Explore the biblical stages of salvation.

Build both factual and experiential knowledge of God.

Grow in faith, character, and Christlike action.

Pursue maturity in Christ within the context of the local church.
Whether you are new to the faith or looking to grow deeper in your walk with Christ, this class will equip you to develop habits and attitudes that lead to a Christ-centered life, strengthen your commitment to serving others, and support the growth of our church community through meaningful discipleship.
